![]() ![]() Those tend to have really great stories and characters as well, if you don't mind all the reading. Then there's the visual novels, which are basically books with music, voice-acting and pictures and sometimes minor gameplay elements or decisitons that change the plot in a choose your own adventure style. Plus there's the overarching mystery of what happened and why they are locked into the school in the first place, and why isn't anyone from outside looking for them? Their captor tells them they need to kill each other as a ticket to get out, and while they all seemingly agree to never do this and find another way to escape, some of them can't resist and a series of really well done murder mysteries starts. The premise is this: a bunch of high school students wake up at their school with lost memories and realize they've been locked in, with no way to escape. They also have great stories and characters if you can stand Anime. I can also recommend the Danganronpa series, sort-of visual novels with quite a bit of gameplay. ![]() If you're ok with Anime and a lot of reading, I strongly recommend AI - the Somnium Files, which has one of the best stories (once you get to the jaw-dropping twists) I've seen in 3 decades. I'm a sucker for strongly story-driven games and play a lot of them. ![]()
